A Little About Us

Greetings! Hope you are well.

My brother Eric (Bakery from Germany Co-Founder), has been working on a holiday bakery business for a few years now. Deeply connected to his roots in Germany and Denmark he makes my sister and I look like orphans with little appreciation for our ethnic and cultural histories. I will save that discussion for therapy! LOL. Eric, is very creative and has a brilliant way with food and travel, he is working in partnership with bakers in Germany to bring 'German Christmas Cookies' to others, who can't get to the Christmas markets, or be at home with their family during the holidays for this family tradition of stuffing your face with Christmas cookies. To be fair, eating these beautifully ornate cookies is not really a 'stuff your face' situation but I can't seem to tease out my child-like ways when thinking about these cookies. Every Christmas growing up, my mom would bring these home to us from Germany and now; thirty years later, I literally am transported back to snowy winter days with my family in Pennsylvania - about the time my dad would stuff the bottle of white wine in the snow, my mom would unveil the cookies that could not be touched until the exact right moment. Biting into these - the star cookies (some German name my brother will hate if I do not use (being a little sister still has it's charm), are my sister and my favorites and they sell out fast - warning!). But alas, holidays with our family were not all fun and games, mostly routine and obligatory at times, but Eric found a way to keep us connected. Deeply missed and a treasured memory; funny how thirty years and a dash of melancholy can change one's perspective on how spending time with family can be so magical, so deeply nourishing - could it all be experienced again? It is a legacy of love and a nod to our heritage to share my brother's hard work and partnership with bakers with those who we love - like you! I thought of you when he sent me this email update and to be honest, I feel like I should do what I can, get some good points with the family (trust me, I need them). I am proud and I think you may also enjoy these treats, as our friendship and conversations have revealed.

Enjoy! xo
